Spa del Mar
Supporting Cancun’s athletes, one massage at a time. On Saturday, August 31, the therapists from Spa del Mar at Sandos Cancun Luxury Experience Resort were on-hand at the 6th Charlie & Friends Half Marathon and Race. Our team of masseuses cheered on more than 200 athletes, and waited at the finish line to offer massages, stretching and hydration to all the participants.
Charlie & Friends is organized by Carlos “Charlie” Fuentes, the instructor at the Spa del Mar gym, so our spa team was thrilled to support their coworker and the runners by signing up as sponsors for this beautiful event.
The race began at the famous El Mirador (“The Lookout”) in the Cancun Hotel Zone at 5:30 in the morning, creating an incredible sunrise setting for the event. Runners could participate in a variety of races designed for all skill levels:
- Half marathon (21k)
- 10k
- 5k
- 5k walk
- 3k with strollers
