A fun-filled family beach event in Playa del Carmen, Mexico!
Tuesday, August 19 was International Sandcastle and Sculpture Day, and what better way to celebrate than with our very own Sandcastle Showdown! On Tuesday at Sandos Playacar Beach Experience Resort, we invited our guests down to the extensive beach area for a little bit of friendly competition by the Caribbean Sea. Our Sandcastle Showdown gave guests the chance to show off their sandcastle building skills during their vacation. Parents, kids and friends alike teamed up to take on other Sandos Playacar guests in a sunny sandcastle competition event in Playa del Carmen.
The Sandcastle Showdown began on the beach at 10 am, with beautiful sand sculptures like a Mayan temple and a giant serpent to inspire the contestants while they designed their own artwork in the sand. The guests got pretty creative with their sandcastles, incorporating lots of unique design, towers, moats and more. What a fun day!
During the this beach event in Playa del Carmen, our guests had the chance to cool off with refreshing drinks, fresh fruit and ice cream cones provided by the Sandos staff. The Sandcastle Showdown was an exciting way for our guests and our staff to play and create on our spectacular Caribbean beach. At the end of the competition, our jury scored each of the sandcastles to determine which were the best of the best, and in the evening we had great resort amenities handed out as prizes for our first, second and third place winners.
