Lanzarote: the tranquility of the island of volcanoes

An island to relax

Lanzaroteños say that the most important work of art by the painter, sculptor, and architect César Manrique is Lanzarote. From a bird’ s-eye view, Lanzarote is a mosaic of intense colors whipped by the wind, intoxicated by the sun’s rays and surrounded by a deep blue ocean. But if there is something to highlight, Lanzarote is an excellent island to get inspired. It gives off tranquility and peace; it is an island without crowds, where there is room for everyone and time for everything. It is the perfect place for a vacation where you can disconnect, necessary in the times we live, which has plunged us into uncertainty and permanent concern.

Here you breathe peace

But there is Lanzarote: that little respite allows us to take a break and feel free again. Declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, Lanzarote has it all. Volcanic beaches, lunar landscapes that remind us of other planets, exquisite local gastronomy, and a profound artistic imprint that its best ambassador, César Manrique, left all over the island, making it the ideal destination to reconnect with oneself and with nature in its purest state.  Lanzarote is one of those islands, which, however small it may be, never ceases to amaze. Its silence and its sometimes deserted appearance make him unique.

“For me, it was one of the most beautiful places on earth. I realized that if they could see it through my eyes, they would think just like me.”

César Manrique

A holiday to disconnect and connect

The calm and silence of the entire island encourage you to disconnect so that you are able to recharge your energy in long days full of light and sun. Lanzorte is the ideal environment to relax as a couple, alone, or with friends and get lost in its volcanoes, caves, and virgin beaches. A climate without much cold in winter or too hot in summer influences each traveler to visit this wondrous place. It is scientifically proven that the climate has a direct impact on our emotions. In Lanzarote, you get it all. If you are looking for a quiet holiday in which the best plan is that there is no plan, here we recommend some small getaways within the island.

Visit the Timanfaya National Park

The landscapes of Lanzarote are as impressive as they are peculiar. Part of that charm we owe to Timanfaya National Park. The absence of vegetation, it’s color palettes, volcano silhouettes, and the steep coast; give Timanfaya extraordinary beauty. We recommend you to visit the Valley of tranquility; silence will intoxicate you.

Papagayo Beach: A Little Paradise to Lose Yourself In

It is an entirely virgin area protected with coves of white sands and crystal clear waters with greenish tints. In them, you can dive like a swimming pool. As a recommendation, very close is Playa del Congrio, one of the coves on this coast where you will not find anyone.

Caleta de Famara

It is ideal for spending a day at the beach where you can walk for miles. Its impressive cliff will offer you beautiful views of the “river” between Lanzarote and La Graciosa. Hopefully, if the day is not cloudy, you can photograph the Risco de Famara’s reflection on the beach in the wet sand.

Paisaje Protegido La Geria

If you want to surprise your partner, let yourself be seduced by the wine region of La Geria, a set of conical excavations in the volcanic earth, which welcomes each vine and protects it from the wind with small stone walls. The result is delicious wines with a Designation of Origin. Ideal for wine lovers.
