Tenerife Symphony Orchestra brings Chamber Music to Sandos San Blas

Category : Social

On Thursday June, 28th, Tenerife Symphony Orchestra offers a free concert in Sandos San Blas Nature Resort & Golf’s Auditorium, as a part of Tenerife’s Chamber Music Series.

After finishing the annual season of concerts at Santa Cruz de Tenerife’s Auditorium, the Orchestra’s management decided to take their art to 10 locations on the island, San Miguel de Abona being among them. Due to the availabilty of the best facilities in the municipality for such events, San Miguel’s Council has appointed Sandos San Blas’ Hall to be the venue for the concert, wich will start at 20:30 hours.

The concert will include 4 pieces of Mendelssohn and 2 of Shostakovski, all of them for string octet. The first, Opus 20: Allegro moderato con fuoco, Andante, Scherzo, and Allegro and Presto leggierissimo; the second: Prelude and Scherzo of his op. 11.

The concert is offered to the public for free, no matter whether they are staying at the hotel or not. To attend the event as a spectator, all interested persons must be present at 20:00 hours, as the doors will close once the capacity is filled. The estimated duration is 50 minutes. Obviously, the presence at the performance in swimming trunks or costume, or in open shoes is forbidden.

Jakob Ludwig Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, generally known in English-speaking countries as Felix Mendelssohn (3 February 1809 – 4 November 1847) was a German composer, pianist, organist and conductor of the early Romantic period.

Dmitri Dmitriyevich Shostakovich: 25 September 1906 – 9 August 1975) was a Soviet Russian composer and pianist and was one of the most celebrated composers of the 20th century.
