Since 2010, Sandos Playacar has been offering much needed support to communities in the Riviera Maya through our donation program.  On Saturday December 15, 2012 this program became formalized into Ayudanos a Ayudar (Help us Help).  Our Sandistas in our Playacar hotel have consistently volunteered their time and donated usable household and personal items to social organizations in Playa del Carmen for distribution to low-income families and individuals.

Sandos will now officially expand this program to invite guests  to donate new and used items in our lobby donation centers.  The items collected will be delivered directly to the rural Mayan communities of Cholul, Santa Cruz, and Cocoyol in southern Quintana Yucatan.

The Ayudanos Ayudar program has been designed to encourage guests and Sandistas to participate in practices related to Sandos underlying mission of sustainable tourism.  By donating new and used items guests can offer direct and useful economic support to communities in need.  At the same time, Sandos is able to donate usable items such as sheets, pillows, and household appliances, which allows us to reduce waste.

Sandos appreciates the dedication of the staff members who have headed this project, Guadelpude Barron (Eco), Humberto Marin (Director of Housekeeping), and Enrique Perez (Web Relations) with key support from hotel director Ivan Tapia and from the maintenance and Eco Club staff .  Like many projects and at Sandos the launch of the Ayudanos a Ayudar program is a testament of our commitment to creating innovation and sustainable tourism programs.  We invite guests to stop by the lobby donation center and donate new or used goods during your stay with us.
