This past weekend, several of our guests at Sandos Caracol Eco Resort & Spa got to practice their swing on a Caribbean beach!
The Grand Coral Beach Club invited Sandos along to compete in their Bikini Golf event on Sunday, August 4, a fun family event where participants got to test their golf skills while wearing their swimsuits.
Each participant was given a free “ecobioball” from Natural Golf, with an extra cost of $20 pesos for each additional ball. Designed for water play, the biodregradable ecobioballs have a core filled with fish food, meaning that not only do these golf balls decrease pollution, but they also feed the wildlife.
An instructor was on-hand during the Bikini Golf competition to help newcomers to the game. To win the grand prize of a 2-night stay at Sandos Caracol or a 3-night stay at Mare Azul, players had to get their golf ball to land near a marker set 100 meters out in the ocean. Any players who could get their ball between two markers set 10 meters out could win a free mojito. Not bad!
And here’s the big winner of the day with his prize of a 2-night stay at Sandos Caracol! With him (left) is the representative for Natural Golf, and on the right stands Cristina Vergés-Tapiró Durà from Grand Coral’s groups and weddings team. Thanks, ladies!
Guests attending the Bikini Golf competition also got to enjoy all the perks of the Grand Coral Beach club with drinks, live music and food.
The Grand Coral Beach Club and Sandos Caracol are both part of the beautiful Grand Coral Riviera Maya community, also featuring condos, villas and an 18-hole golf course designed by Nick Price just north of Playa del Carmen.
