The Cinco de Mayo is NOT Mexican independence day, Cinco de Mayo commemorates the Battle of Puebla where Mexican Soldiers defeated the French Army on the 5th of May in 1862, leaving celebrations of the event here in Mexico mainly to you know…Puebla, Mexico.
Fun Fact: Actually, Cinco de Mayo is celebrated more in the U.S.A than it actually is in Mexico.

In the U.S.A in 2011, Tequilla sales doubled on Cinco de Mayo, and if you think that´s crazy, in 2013, it was estimated that Americans consumed around 87.3 MILLION pounds of avocados on Cinco De Mayo. And just to add onto it, one of the largest Cinco de Mayo celebrations in the world is actually held in… Los Angelas, California.
